Menopause Weight Gain Can Be Stopped And Even Lost
Many women and their families struggle through menopause, often written as menapause, because of the various symptoms and hormone changes of menopause that can cause wicked mood swings in some women! However, the good news is that not every woman experiences these mood swings. In fact not every woman has all of the possible symptoms of menopause like heavier periods, or lighter periods, irregular periods with no change in the rate of flow, hot flashes and night sweats, weight gain or occasionally weight loss, mood swings, and so on.
There is no doubt that the menopausal symptoms do vary greatly between women, depending onĀ ethnicity, upbringing and other considerations, which may surprise you. You do not know when you will start menopause, or how the changes will affect you. This is probably for the best, since some women really suffer with menopause symptoms already mentioned as well as forgetfulness.
It should be noted that the changes do not all happen at once, it is a gradual process that can take as little as a year or two, or it could last up to ten, and you have no control over the timing. It may start for women in their 30s, or might not start until they are in their 50s or 60s, with the average being the early 50s.
The one thing that all women should be doing anyway is eating a healthy diet and exercising regularly several times a week. This can help you to get through the challenges of menapause, knowing you are doing the best that you can for your body. It will help you to keep off that menopausal weight gain that is a problem for so many women too.
Now, there are some natural treatments that can be tried to help relieve the symptoms of menopause if they cause you a lot of trouble, but as with many things in life, not everything will work for every one. A big problem of menopause is the night sweats, which can soak bedding a few times a night in some cases. Naturally this lowers the quality of sleep that women get too, and this in turn affects how they cope with their lives, and their families. In some cases, families don’t know what is going on, they just know that Mom is not herself, and they need to stay out of the way!
There are some herbs that give relief to some women, and acupuncture has had some success too for lessening menopause symptoms. Black Cohosh brings relief for hot flashes and night sweats for some menopausal women, along with light bedding and cool showers before retiring for the night. Vitamin E is said to help too, although there are differing reports about its effectiveness.
So, to all the women who still have to go through menopause, take care of your body by eating a healthy diet, exercise, and try to maintain your sense of humour through it all – menapause will not last forever, it can just seem like that while you are going through the many changes!
